Linzy Roussel Cotaya

Linzy Roussel Cotaya is a NOLA PR girl with a social media hobby. Her resume includes a mix of ad agency and nonprofit experience.

Linzy has worked with brands such as The Historic New Orleans Collection, Baptist Community Ministries, Hotel Monteleone, Holy Cross School, Broadway Across America, French Market Coffee, Camellia Grill, Byblos Restaurants, Taste Buds Restaurants (Zea Rotisserie & Grill and Semolina Restaurant), Hiller Jewelry, American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, The New Orleans Fire Foundation, Bienville House Hotel, The Association of Fundraising Professionals, Salire Fitness, Pamlab, Southern Dominican Province, Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana and FELD Entertainment’s Disney On Ice and Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Linzy and her husband Paul welcomed their daughter, Baby Crawfish, in September 2010. Linzy works part time enjoying being back in the PR world but lovers her time home with Baby Crawfish. 


Her work has been honored by the Public Relations Society of America, the Press Club of New Orleans, the International Association of Business Communicators and the Southern Public Relations Federation. She has been named as a 2009 Top 50 Tweeple to Follow on Twitter.

Linzy is currently the President of the New Orleans American Marketing Association and is a member of the Public Relations Association of Louisiana, Southern Public Relations Federation, Women in Media-Baton Rouge, The Social Media Club of New Orleans and as a student mentor with the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University. Linzy is a member of the 2009 Bryan Bell Leadership Class hosted by the Committee for a Better New Orleans and the Metropolitan Area Committee.


The most asked questions is where the name zzcrawfish comes from. As a New Orleanian with Cajun roots, Linzy's husband calls her "crawfish" because of her love of crawfish. She likes them almost anyway she can get them. "zz" is a family nickname that came from the way her name is spelled. Linzy combined the two nicknames to create a screen name back in the day of AOL Instant Messaging(remember that?) and the name has stuck
